PTSA Testing
PTSA and Fluorescein indicators are excited by UV light. Using a fluorometer calibrated to known standards, the amount of excitation is measured at specific wavelengths to calculate the concentration. Excitation of the electrons on fluorescing indicators makes a solution that seems clear and colorless “glow”. Some indicators “glow” more than others. This is accounted for in the meter programming.
